Let’s start naming some of current popular mobile OSes; iOS, Android and maybe Windows Phone. Now let put the maker of Firefox browser into the list, what have you got? It’s Boot to Gecko, or simply B2G OS. Mozilla officially annouced they are building their own operating system for the smartphone market. It is built on top of customized linux kernel, but it’s not Android, just kind-of similar origin. With focus to utilize HTML5 as the framework for their apps, this OS may easily gain numbers of app in a short time because app developers will not need learning curve developing apps for it. Any HTML5 web developers can now become B2G app developers. Plus with Mozilla Marketplace already set up and ready to take application submission, B2G will have lots of app ready by the launching day.
